Terms and Conditions

The International Monologue Competition is a one time $1000 grand prize or $100 runner-up cash award. A one time $30 fee is necessary to submit each application. Applicants must be sixteen (16) years of age or older as of April 30, 2016. Any applicant who is between the ages of sixteen (16) years and younger than eighteen (18) of April 1, 2016 must obtain consent from a parent/legal guardian in order to enter this competition. Persons under sixteen (16) years of age are ineligible. Proof of age (i.e. government issued ID, birth certificate, etc.) may be requested as verification of eligibility. A list of winners can be available upon request. Entering this competition constitutes the acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms and conditions. Void where prohibited by law.

Period of Competition

The International Monologue Competition will begin accepting submissions on April 1, 2016 at 12:00pm EDT will continue accepting submissions through April 30, 2016 at 11:59pm EDT. The grand prize winner and three runners up will be announced by May 31, 2016 at 11:59pm EDT.

Accepting the Prize

The applicants selected will receive a prize offer letter via email that will explain how to accept the prize or decline it. Prizes may be subject to US income tax laws and are the responsibility of the prize recipient to pay. A 1099 will be provided to the recipient from Acceptd.

Dispersal of the Prize

The scholarship will be sent directly to the recipient via check. Acceptd is not responsible for lost/delayed mail or email, or typographical errors. Unclaimed prizes will be void after 180 days.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL ACCEPTD, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS, MANAGERS, AFFILIATES OR EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, ACTUAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, NOMINAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF PROFITS OR LOSS OF DATA, WHETHER IN LAW OR ANY DAMAGES CAPABLE OF REMEDY AT EQUITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE APPLICANT’S MONOLOGUE SUBMISSION OR PERSONAL INFORMATION RELATED THERETO. FURTHER NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, SOME OF THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AS SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW IT.

Privacy

Upon applying for the International Monologue Competition, applicants agree to give Acceptd the right to publish an applicant’s first name for promotional purposes. Applicants understand that they waive all right to compensation for the use of applicant’s personal information and any compensation associated therewith. Acceptd also has the right to send email updates about the International Monologue Competition to our clients and other affiliates. Acceptd agrees to respect the privacy of the candidates’ personal information. The information provided by the applicant for the handling of administrative matters relating to the applicant’s eligibility and location will not be made public.
