Her versatility as a performing artist has taken her from musical comedies to Shakespeare; from folk, pop, cabaret and jazz to Brahms and Brecht. Some of her award-winning acting roles include Mae West in DIRTY BLONDE and Edna in THE GOOD TIMES ARE KILLING ME (Human Race/ CATCO), Audrey in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (Players Theatre Cols), and most recently, as Hollywood agent Sue Mengers in I'LL EAT YOU LAST for Short North Stage, of which she is a co-founder. Recent projects: for The Human Race Theatre Company: Jeannette in THE FULL MONTY, Dayton Philharmonic's BEST OF BROADWAY concert, Songwriter Showcase w/ guest host Susan Blackwell, and Mrs. Beckoff/ Lady Blues (u/s) in TORCH SONG TRILOGY. For SNS: COOL SONGS ON A WARM NIGHT and SWANSONG: A BRECHT CABARET with musician Larry Marotta. Deb is a UNC School of the Arts Drama alum, a Resident Artist with The Human Race Theatre Co, and 20-year Actors' Equity member. IMG_0490Bronwynn Hopton  is a theatre educator, director, actress, and choreographer. As a teacher with the Worthington Schools, she developed a secondary theatre curriculum entitled, Theatre Repertory, that produces a theatre season averaging 10 plays a year and was recognized with the local Innovation in Teaching Award and Impact Education Award. Alumni from this program have pursued successful theatre careers from the classroom to Broadway and film. Currently she serves as President of the McConnell Arts Center Board in Worthington, Ohio where she works with fundraising and promoting the multi arts focus of the center. In addition to theatre education, Bronwynn has continued to perform as an actress in projects sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Humanities Council. Currently she is a performer and founding member of the Gallery Theatre, a group that designs theatrical presentations inspired by the McConnell Art Center’s art exhibits with the purpose of enriching the viewer’s experience. Bronwynn Hopton earned a BS in Education and a MFA in theatre from OSU.
