Get ready Columbus, Arts Festival is coming this weekend! Every year hundreds of artists and arts organizations gather to celebrate the vibrant Columbus arts scene. Still on the fence? Here are 6 reasons not to miss the 2019 Columbus Arts Festival.

You can find the full list of performers on the Arts Festival website, but here are some highlights we’re looking forward to!

3) The Demos
See how artists create their art! There will be many demonstrations featured throughout the weekend in the Big Local Arts Village. See live leathercrafting, clay working, calligraphy, blacksmithing and more!

4) The Arts Organizations
In addition to artists, many local arts organizations will be featured at Arts Festival, telling you a little about their upcoming season, and some even selling tickets. Some of the arts organizations include BalletMet, CAPA, the Columbus Symphony, Opera Columbus, ProMusica, Early Music Columbus, and more.

5) They Support Emerging Artists
One of the coolest things about the Arts Festival is their Emerging Artists Program. Every year the festival selects local emerging artists who have little or no experience displaying or selling their art. This year, 14 artists were selected, who will receive assistance from festival staff and committee members on the best ways to display their pieces and set up their booths.

6) The Food
If nothing else has grabbed your attention so far, don’t worry, there’s food! Food trucks like Schmidt’s, Loops, Late Night Slice, Tortilla, Graeters, and MANY more will be available all weekend serving everything from snacks, to meals, to desserts, to the essential frozen lemonade.
