Full Sail University’s online and campus Graphic Design bachelor’s degree programs teach students to use their artistic sensibilities to create their own branding and potentially work with freelance clients or established companies. The university’s real-world approach to instruction gives students hands-on experience using skills that are relevant to the design industry. Courses like Typography & Page Layout and Digital Publishing teach students how to take design fundamentals and turn them into inspired projects for print or digital mediums. Students interested in a certificate program can take some graphic design-focused classes in Full Sail’s Visual Design Certificate program.

Full Sail University has received multiple accolades from the design industry: The school was featured on Graphic Design USA’s list of Top Design Schools five times, and Animation Career Review included it on its list of Top 50 Design Schools in 2022 and 2023. Here are some of the qualities that make Full Sail’s Graphic Design program stand out.

Campus Labs & Spaces for Full Sail Graphic Design Students

Full Sail offers many hands-on, real-world learning spaces for Graphic Design students.

In the 3D Arts Center, students can work on individual projects or collaborate with classmates using industry-standard software at digital workstations.

In the Traditional Art Studio, Graphic Design students can work on foundational art skills like color theory and composition.

In The Hub, students can check out displays of visual art created by other students.

Full Sail University’s Graphic Design Events

Full Sail’s Graphic Design students come together for a number of design-focused events.

At the program’s Project Showcase, students can show off their completed final projects to their peers and instructors.

Full Sail has also hosted the Adobe Creative Jam, a competition where student teams have a few hours to complete a design project using Adobe Creative Cloud apps.

Full Sail’s Project LaunchBox for Graphic Design Students

Full Sail’s Project LaunchBox provides students with the digital tools they’ll use during the Graphic Design degree program and after graduation. Each student’s LaunchBox contains a MacBook Pro with industry-standard design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud.

Full Sail University’s Graphic Design Faculty & Advisors

Full Sail gives Graphic Design students a relevant design education by developing courses with insight from graphic design professionals and hiring faculty members who have design industry experience.

Some of Full Sail’s experienced design educators include Milena Jackson, who has more than 20 years of experience and runs her own design company, and Suzy Johnson, who marries traditional art with technology to help her students develop their creative voice.

Full Sail’s Program Advisory Committee members provide information about new industry technology, hiring needs, and more to help inform Full Sail’s Graphic Design curriculum development. Some of Full Sail’s notable Program Advisory Committee members include:

  • Steve Curtis (Owner, Steve Curtis Design)

  • Judy Hodge (Owner & Creative Director, UrbanMindShare)

  • Sharon Hoogstraten (Emmy winner, Individual Achievement in Graphic Design)

  • Camdon Wilde (Co-Founder, Leighton Moon)

Full Sail students also have access to campus and virtual guest lectures and workshops, so they can hear from successful design graduates and additional design professionals and ask them questions about the industry.

Full Sail University’s Notable Graphic Design Alumni

Full Sail’s Graphic Design grads strive to make their mark on the design industry. Graduates like Kevin Ramoo (Brand Coordinator & Senior Graphic Designer, Super-Pharm) and Ahmad Ghassan Al Adham (Art Director, Al Babtain) used their education to work on branding for large companies in countries like Trinidad and Kuwait.

Grad Adam Cipoletti (Associate Creative Director, Salesforce) helps build dynamic presentations at Salesforce, while alum Marty O’Neill (Creative Director, Drastic Graphics) took his company from a small, homegrown brand to a full-fledged creative agency.
