In order to be fully prepared for a college audition – you can expect to bring a bag packed to the brim for each audition! Pick up a messenger bag from Timbuk2 or a duffle bag from Capezio so your performer can be sure to carry all necessary garments, shoes, sheet music, water bottles and snacks in one bag!
The Belt Box
The Belt Box is the first portable voice dampener for singers. Singers can simply put it over their mouth while warming up to avoid disturbing others! Water Bottle
It’s essential to stay hydrated during auditions. Each performer should always have a water bottle on them at all times for easy fill-ups throughout the day. Investing in a quality water bottle will save you having to buy dozens of disposable water bottles throughout audition season. I recommend a Swell bottle (keeps beverages cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours – perfect if they need some hot soothing tea on audition day!) or a Nalgene bottle, which is very durable and dishwasher safe.

Has your Musical theatre hopeful played the Hamilton soundtrack non-stop since the day it was released? Maybe a gift card to purchase more cast recordings or soundtracks will be music to their ears. Having access to purchase music is not only a fantastic way for them to stay well versed in the industry while having fun but also a great way to potentially discover new audition pieces. Pick Punch
A Pick Punch allows you to make your own guitar picks out of old credit cards, IDs, insurance cards, etc. Even if you are not a guitarist, how fun would it be to make picks of all of the hotel rooms you stayed in over your college audition journey? A great way to commemorate this once in a lifetime, crazy experience.
