July 2017 Acceptd Partner Update

Published July 17th, 2017

Dear Partners,
We're in the dog days of summer but despite the heat, we've been hard at work to bring you exciting updates! Many of you are in the middle of summer programs, festivals, and competitions. Some of you might be catching rays by the pool before Fall semester comes around (we're jealous). Either way, grab your shades and cold lemonade because we've got some hot news to share!

SNEAK PEEK: Scheduling Webinar

In 2015, Acceptd worked with select partners to develop a scheduling platform to help alleviate the pains of managing audition schedules by hand with spreadsheets and emails. Today, the Acceptd scheduling service helps universities, festivals, and workshops alike schedule thousands of live auditions and interviews every year.

As an Acceptd partner, you have access to our scheduling features right away: to allow applicants to select time slots, send automatic notifications, and track your auditions in real-time. If you're interested in running live audition registrations through Acceptd as part of your current account, sign up for our webinar in August and learn more about Acceptd Scheduling!

New Tech Enhancements

Critiques Table: We've heard your feedback and are excited to announce a brand new table that allows you to view all your adjudication details in one place! What was previously available in the "Adjudication Export" is now available for full customization in your Accept account. Reviewer assignments, individual ratings, and comments are all accessible at-a-glance so you can better manage your adjudication cycle. You can even pull in columns from your submissions table to better combine data!

Spell Check in Messaging: We're all moving a mile-a-minute and sometimes that means we miss our typos or misspellings. Now you won't have to worry about overlooking misspellings in your Acceptd messages with the addition of spell check to the platform.

Webinar Survey:

The Account Relations Team introduced a webinar series this year, running webinars to educate our partners on marketing trends, application best practices, recruitment tips, and more. Our next webinar will be running in August, but in the meantime we want to hear from you. What are the areas that you wish you knew more about? What would you help you be more successful with your management and organization? Let us know in a quick, 2-question survey!

Partner Spotlight

We love seeing the interconnectedness of our network and sharing the successes of our partners. The Acceptd team is proud to recognize pianist Kenny Broberg and his success with two of our partner competitions. Broberg took the bronze medal at the New Orleans International Piano Competition (NOIPC) and silver at The Cliburn. Here are a few words from our partners at NOIPC:

"We couldn't possibly be more proud of and happy for Kenny Broberg! He's been a part of Musical Arts Society of New Orleans (MASNO) for a number of years now, and is a perfect example of who we are and what we strive to accomplish through our mission. We look forward to congratulating Kenny in person this summer when he returns to New Orleans as one of our Keyboard Festival Guest Artists! We are just thrilled for Kenny and his teachers, and are so honored to have played a small part in his journey so far." - Cara McCool Woolf, Executive Director, MASNO.

Our Fearless Leaders

Meet the fearless leaders of the Acceptd team! These gentlemen have led, inspired, and developed the Acceptd crew with passion and purpose since it all began in 2011.

(from left to right: Derek, Don, and Jerry)

Derek Brown, Founder, CEO: In true entrepreneurial fashion, Derek is a jack of many trades but master of none. He dabbles in everything from guitar to hiking to scuba diving. He loves bringing together passionate people who are smarter than he is to execute on a shared vision. Derek also applies his entrepreneurial spirit to his personal life, where he's actively involved in a startup church plant in Columbus.

Don Hunter, Founder, President: A self-proclaimed enigma, Don's ideal evening would include steak, bourbon and a cigar, followed by a tear-jerking Hallmark movie. At 6'5", his adversaries include fellow plane passengers who try to recline their seats, and those who sit behind him in movie theaters. He's a husband of 1, father of 3, and friend to many.

Jerry Tsai, Vice President: A former 4th-grade teacher through Teach For America, Jerry is known to eat pizza at least once a week and correspondingly makes up for it through his morning Crossfit workouts. He's currently learning Mandarin Chinese as part of a decade-long commitment to learning something new every year throughout his 30's. Jerry is always excited to share about his dog Kya, what he learned that morning on the Today Show, or his most recent travel plans.
