September 2017 Acceptd Partner Update

Published September 11th, 2017

Dear Partners,

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, and with several of our Houston partners affected and in recovery from its profound devastation, the Acceptd team has been meditating on the role of the arts in coping with adversity. We are firm believers in the arts as a warm blanket, providing comfort in the aftermath of tragedy. This week as we have watched countless volunteers, officials, and neighbors rise up together to rescue, embrace, support and rebuild the community, it is our hope that we too can make a difference through what we do best: the Arts. As Hurricane Irma progresses, we challenge and encourage you as fellow artists and members of our Acceptd Family to join us in combined efforts to provide aid for South Texas, Louisiana and Florida communities.

Here's how:

MainStreet Musicals and Acceptd are working together to provide resources to help local communities throughout the country organize benefit concerts to generate funds for the relief efforts. Using the new works collected for Broadway Bound (an annual competition for young performers transitioning into "the business"), we are providing theatre educators the materials (demos, backing tracks, intros, scores) needed for you to put on benefit concerts that feature your students singing these prize winning songs.
Check out the songs here. If you and your students would like to put on a Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert, please contact Tim Jerome (Founding President of MainStreet Musicals) at tim@mainstreetmusicals.org.

In steadfast friendship,
The Acceptd Family

Marketing Minute

You have may noticed that scrolling through your Facebook feed these days is a bit like seeing the world live and in color through the eyes of your friends. Facebook Live, the ability to live stream video via Facebook, has captured everything from concerts and commencement addresses to world changing events. Suddenly, we all have our own 24 hour network broadcast station in our pocket.

Facebook Live is also a powerful tool for college recruitment. Campus tours, performances and classes can all be streamed live to your prospective students! Recent studies show that Facebook Live posts double your reach and yield 3 times the engagement of a normal post.

Interested in learning how to live stream your events to prospective students? Contact marketing@getacceptd.com for a free consultation on best practices for Facebook Live.
