Student Opportunities in Full Sail University’s Studio V1

Full Sail University is committed to bringing the latest industry technology to its campus so that students can learn with the tools they’ll use after they graduate. Studio V1, Full Sail’s virtual production studio, is a prime example of this commitment to hands-on education.

Virtual production studios use video game engines to create dynamic digital sets with a high level of realism. These sets are displayed on massive LED screens behind a project’s actors during filming, and they can be adjusted or changed entirely in just a few clicks. Studio V1 helps Full Sail students learn to use this technology, and the university regularly has campus projects in Studio V1 where students can gain real-world experience on virtual productions.

Studio V1’s Technology

Studio V1 boasts some of the latest virtual production tools and technology. Top-of-the-line Brompton LED processors convey images from Unreal Engine onto the studio’s 40-foot-wide and 16-foot-high LED wall. The wall has 500 hyper-pixel LED tiles, with 410 tiles on the ground and 90 tiles across the ceiling, to create crisp, immersive imagery for sets. This equipment, combined with Full Sail’s industry-standard audio, lighting, and camera gear, makes Studio V1 one of the most technologically advanced on-campus studios in the country.
