So, you have goals in the music industry? Well, whether your goals are in the spotlight or behind the scenes, the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) has a program for you. LACM prepares students to be leaders in the music industry, all in the heart of the music and entertainment industries. This summer, explore any of the three distinct programs to launch your career.
Summer Xperience
Summer Xperience is a 3 week program with focuses in Music Performance, Songwriting, Music Production, Composing for Visual Media and Music Entrepreneurship. The Xperience is offered to all skill levels and includes master classes, private lessons, recitals and large ensembles taught by LACM faculty and top music industry members.

Rap & Hip-Hop: Change the World
Learn about lyric writing, top line melodic construction, beat production, live and MIDI recording, vocal performance, and music business while collaborating with other talented students. Rap & Hip-Hop students will be given the opportunity to showcase their tracks and/or perform at the end of the week in a final performance for friends and family.
The Rap & Hip-Hop program will run concurrently with the LACM Summer Xperience Songwriting and Advanced Production program(s). Rap & Hip-Hop students will take classes with a specific focus on individualized songwriting and production coaching to produce music that can have a positive message/impact on the world.
In partnership with the Subversive Foundation, Rap & Hip-Hop: Change the World 2020 will run concurrently with the LACM Summer Xperience Songwriting and Advanced Production program(s).

This week-long program is a hands-on, immersive experience with the Grammy-winning Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band members. Including combos, improv, and a final performance, you can’t find this experience anywhere else! Having amassed 21 Grammy nominations, four statues and three Emmy wins, Gordon Goodwin is the most decorated big band leader in the 21st century.
