Zeitgeist, composer Ben Houge, and an all-star cast of Saint Paul chefs are teaming up to mix the musical and culinary arts in the Saint Paul Food Opera. The Saint Paul Food Opera pairs delectable dishes with evocative music, enhancing the experience of both. Houge will create a collection of musical works for Zeitgeist designed to pair with dishes prepared by chefs from Saint Paul restaurants.

Visit Los Angeles College of Music
Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) will be visiting St. Paul for one day only to meet with students at the 2016 National College Fair. LACM prepares students to be leaders in music and offers Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees and Diploma programs in Music Performance, Music Production, Songwriting, Composing for Visual Media and Music Business. Teen Idol: The Bobby Vee Story
1959. With the tragic crash of Buddy Holly’s plane, a bright new star from Fargo emerged. Fifteen-year-old Bobby Velline performed at the Winter Dance Party in Moorhead, MN the day the music died. Bobby went on to record his first hit single, Suzie Baby, in Minneapolis - and soon would become a teen idol appearing on American Bandstand with Dick Clark and an international star who thrilled audiences for more than a decade with Top 40 hits. Listen as ten StorySLAM champs tell tales about the ups and downs of a commitment. The Moth is an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to the art & craft of storytelling.
NextNotes Lab Concert
NextNotes Lab is a local, student-driven offshoot of the nationwide NextNotes program run by the American Composers Forum. The Lab ensures space for student composers to have a piece performed without a juried selection process. Over the past year, the Lab has produced numerous original works for soloists and small ensembles, diverse in style and instrumentation. Join the Lab for its inaugural concert, featuring works by Maxwell Rader, Seamus Hubbard Flynn, Austin Kraft, and Nicholas Christenson.
